Las Vegas -Bachelor Party - Help/ideas

Hey Fellas,

I figured this would be the best group to ask.

I am the best man for my buddy who is taking the plunge next year. Since he is out in Cali, me in Texas, and most of the group coming in from NY and other parts of Cali, I decided we should party in Vegas.

I have never planned a party in Vegas before and was hoping for some ideas on how to approach this. Do I use a VIP Host to get us in to the night club and arrange all the activities? Do I arrange for strippers to come to the hotel room? Speaking of Hotel, any recommendations? I have been doing my research, but just wanted to get some more ideas. Anyone have any contacts out there?

We are going to be on a budget, no High Roller stuff, but want to get there on a Friday, have nice dinner, Saturday maybe do some go kart racing, pool party, and night club.

Give me some ideas please. The party is not until next year May, though I need to plan this thing now.

Thanks!
Dell
Depending on how many will be attending, you can usually get a group discount on rooms, and a Host assigned to help plan the group activities, passes, access, tee times, etc. What age group are we talking about, and are most single or married? It has bearing on the likely activities and atmosphere/personality hotel you select. The Palms will be a very different crowd than say, the Wynn. Of course, neither of those will be budget-minded. I know there are several other old goats on here that frequent the City of Lost Wages. You should get some decent suggestions. I haven't been in the last year, for various reasons, so my info may be a little dated.

I am having anywhere from 10-12 guys. Age group is 30-36 yrs. I would say half are married. I am thinking of Palms or Hard Rock for the party atmosphere. Also thinking Rio or Mandalay Bay may be a reasonable choice. If we hire entertainment to come to the room, then I might consider Venetian since they have bigger suites at more affordable rates. I was really wondering if anyone had any experiences they could share to get me in the right direction.
Thanks!

expensive town for entertainment
I threw a bachelor party in Vegas a few years ago. I have been to Vegas a bunch of times so I knew what was what. Most of the guys had never been to Vegas before so I set up a scavenger hunt where they had to figure out clues which led them to different places and hotels in Vegas.

The goal was to find me at the end of the clues. I gave them a handful of envelopes at breakfast and told them "good luck", try to find me bitches. It took them all day to find me, and shockingly, I was at a strip club. We stayed there a couple hours then went to a steakhouse for dinner.

After dinner I had 2 strippers and one provider show up at the room and put on a show for an hour. Anyone that wanted to partake in after show activities was welcome. Then we went to a club and picked up some civies. It was a good time.
Dell, Palms has a high-end see-and-be-seen crowd. Good party atmosphere, but high rollers, and wannabe's. At the Hard Rock, you'll be at the upper end of their demographic. Great if everybody plans to pick up 20 somethings, but you will be competing with 20-somethings as well. Hard Rock is a constant party atmosphere though. Be aware that it isn't directly on the strip, so it complicates casino/club hopping. Rio is also off the strip, across the highway from the backside of Caesers. Rio is a good bargain for large rooms (original tower only). Providers are always cruising the gaming floor and casino bars here.

Another great bargain for large rooms is Bally's. They hadn't done alot of updating last time I was there, but the rooms are large, just not overly fancy. Venetian has a large room suites, and they have even allowed me to register under psuedo-names. The fact that I usually had at least 2 young ladies on my arm checking in helped get me a wink from the front desk. Venetian isn't cheap, but not the most expensive. Both Bally's and Venetian are good locations for doing the strip too.

Another one you might look at is Mandalay Bay. They had a party atmosphere very similiar to Hard Rock. They have an adult only topless pool, and a kick ass night club there and at the Luxor next door. The drawback to Mandalay is that is is all the way at the end of the strip, across from the airport. Last I went, I don't think the monorail even went there. I'll throw a wild card out there for you. The Riviera has always produced a suprisely good time. Its not the newest, nicest, or glitziest, but there something about a hotel that has a brass sculpture of a row of t-back asses on display that kind of sets the mood.

You might do well to research the clubs. It is very beneficial to have a room in the same place as the party. When the Aggie mating call "I'm so drunk." rings out, she won't have time to change her pretty little mind before her ankles are pinned behind her ears.

Another game we played was Panty Raid. Whoever turned in the most pairs of panties at breakfast, won a pot that everyone put into the night before. And buying them off the chica's was no bueno. You had to talk them out of them, or simply not give them back.

HA! Nice info Harley! Decisions, decisions. I plan on doing a lot of research, thus planning far in advanced. Next question, should I hire a VIP Host?

Another suggestion if you can swing it is to make a scouting trip. Hire a town car from the airport. Most of these guys have the hookup as good or better than the casino hosts. Get chummy with the driver, tell him your situation, and see what he suggests. Have him run you through the places one evening to check it out.
