With crime surging in many cities, voters rejected the anti-police left this week. Minneapolis was the birthplace of the defund the police movement, but on Tuesday more than 56% of voters rejected a proposal to abolish the police department. The ballot measure would have replaced the MPD with a vaguely defined Department of Public Safety and eliminated from the city charter requirements for a police chief and a minimum level of police funding.

I think part of the problem is the advanced ages of Biden, Pelosi, Sanders, et al. They have their money and property and won't be around when the bills come due. Manchin was correct, I believe, when he said yesterday that this is a "Center-Right" country. We veer a bit Left sometimes, but the vehemence of the Leftward shift currently is unsustainable. Tuesday's elections--to include ballot initiatives--show a check on the AOCs. This is a great country; I shudder to think of what my life would be had my grandparents not emigrated here. We just have to be vigilant in our awareness of the divide-and-conquer tack the elite are using. IMHO.

Most people are socially liberal, but financially conservative. Socially liberal - we don't care who sleeps with who, we know there's people that need and deserve assistance because bad things happen to good people, people can do what they want as long as they don't hurt others. financially conservative - worry about jobs, the economy, know taxes are needed for key things, but don't think taxes are the answer to everything.

Government - is too big, and answers to no one but themselves anymore. millions of people were severely impacted socially and economically by the way the government handled lockdowns but NONE of them lost their jobs.

Reagan said that the only eternal life on Earth is a government program.
