I think that you are correct. I know that Doc and Miss Kitty are gone. Some interesting facts about the cast:

1) John Wayne declined the offer to play Marshall Dillon and suggested they offer it to James Arness.

2) Despite the fact that his speech was intentionally made to sound as if he were terribly uneducated, Festus, had a magnificient singing voice. He was one of the "Original" Son's of the Pioneers!

Didn't Miss Kitty actually die in Austin? She moved here, married a City Councilman who didn't tell her he had...a horrible disease...and she succumbed.
