They've painted "BLACK LIVES MATTER" in large block letters on the court. Since the players go up and down the court every 15 seconds it constantly scrolls on the screen.

It's ridiculous....

they lost me a few years ago....why does it need to keep up before you quit them?

saw an article on that recently too. will not be watching. not that i was a big NBA fan to start with but this is more than enough to make it permanent. won't even watch the Finals with that on the court.

What surprises me is the NBA (and to some extent the NFL) is relinquishing their "NBA" brand. BLM is "a brand." That's why they don't want people to say "All lives matter." I hurts their brand and their organization. When a player puts a message on their jersey instead of their name, they are relinquishing 'their brand.'

The NBA partners their brand with Nike and other brands for a price and a symbiotic relationship focused on a joint business goal. In the BLM case, it's for free. The BLM organization has control over whatever message it wants to impart.

It will come back to bite the NBA.

I don't watch the NBA. I just hope that BLM doesn't fuck up college basketball. But the odds are pretty good that the "woke" universities will start painting that nonsense on courts.

I will skip March Madness if I have to see that every game.
