Question about Massage in Texas

Hi y'all,

My name is Olivia and my handle pretty much sums it up.... lol Since joining this site in January, I have only had 2 (2!) appointment requests, (most are established, it's not their first rodeo), that have actually been able to pass screening. And I deal with newbies a lot, given that FBSM is a comfortable hobbying starting point for some. For whatever reason, the requests (lost count of how many) from Texas have problems with references or not wanting to be screened at all. Primarily AMPs or unverifiable ladies with only links to BP ads. Not judging BP girls because I advertise there, as not every gent is aware of review boards. It is to the point that when a request comes from this site, it's like "Here we go again....". The two that have booked, one international and one in Dallas, were just spectacular. So in order to have a better understanding of how y'all are used to booking a FBSM, I thought I'd ask here.

Thanks in advance for any insight! As they say in sales and marketing 101, the first step is understanding your clientele.

Happy Hobbying,
Olivia,

As a FBSM guy, one of the reasons I choose that route is to avoid screening. I don't want to have to provide personal information, I don't want to have to give you references, especially since most of my ladies are RMTs who don't provide extras to any one but me, according to what they tell me.

I have been around a while, so I have a bunch of posts, have seen a few ladies at various levels of service provider, and thus, I think a lot of ladies agree to see me based on my posting style and longevity. Also, I try not to come across as too much of an ass when I post, treat people with respect, no matter how screwed up and stupid I think they are, etc. I rarely am formally screened. (OK, in last 6 years, only twice, and one of those was done in chat.)

Working in Vegas, I don't think ECCIE is considered the best resource on Vegas services, but I may be wrong there. Your reviews appear to be stellar. One thing you must understand to is that some guys our members of ECCIE as well as other sites. For Vegas, they may use TER, but in other locales, ECCIE may be their preference.

Also, you may find you want to take part more often in discussion on the site, your discussion here was excellent, and this is probably one of the best NURU discussions that does not involve a Japanese porn scene I have read.

Having read some of your posts and your website, if I ever made it back to Vegas without my SO, I would love to see you. (If I don't have to be screened. ) I have been trying to find a replacement for my original tantra provider for years with no luck.

Hope this helps a bit.
Thank you so much tigercat! Your response actually helped. I completely, completely understand you not wanting to give out personal info. To be perfectly honest, if there is any other way to screen you than that, I'm all for it. For some ladies, their screening is very strict and for some, like myself, it's a give and take. I am very, very sensitive to other people's energy and that does come through in email. So if a red flag or two or three comes up initially, my screening becomes much more difficult or you are just declined after the third round of emails, if that.

Having been on the receiving end of harassment twice (last and this July, a few days after my birthday. Next year, I'm taking the month off... Lol), I am even more cautious. You are correct in that how you present yourself goes a long way, even if the lady isn't familiar with your board presence. And that's the root of my issue, the initial requests have been so squirrely. A much higher percentage than normal. TER is the main board for Vegas and it is not immune to requests that leave a lot to be desired... Lol With research and realizing that ECCIE is the main board for TX, and the resulting requests, that's why I posted. It's always easier to make something happen if we understand where each other is coming from. Help me, to help you.

And yes, board participation helps too. Though after realizing that board involvement was becoming too consuming and not bringing out my best side, it'll be minimal for the next few months. Delving deeper into learning about Tantra and taking a Reiki 1 certification next month, have at least 6 work related websites to build. It's all about the balance and an educated, happy provider equals an exceptional session for you. It's a win-win!

Thanks for the link for the Nuru discussion, I will check it out. Though I rarely do them anymore, it just drives a TON of traffic to my site.

Thanks again for taking the time to respond. If you ever do make it out here solo, I'm sure we can get something worked out.
OMG! Dy.ing over the Nuru link.... Lol What can I say other than I don't mince words... LOL You HAVE to come to Vegas now!

To put it simply, most of the ladies who provide FBSM at least in the DFW area do not require screening. Whether that is a good thing or not - for both hobbiest and provider - is subject to debate. It's ok to not screen if things go well and sucks if they don't. From the hobbiest standpoint, at least this one, I feel if a provider screens she is more likely to provide the services we are seeking and it is important to her to provide quality services/session. It's just that we have a lot of FBSM quality providers here that don't screen. I don't blame a girl for screening but I also won't give out my personal information to anyone for hobbying purposes.

I have seen 32 different providers in 2009 and 37 in 2010. All in the Dallas Fort Worth area and almost all FBSM providers that I have discovered through ECCIE. I have never been screened. For the few that have asked for references I have referred them to my reviews and given some names of providers I have seen. They have always agreed to see me even though I'm guessing they don't learn much from my past provider visits since I rarely tell a provider my handle. I use Eccie as a resource and don't go jumping into a session with some unknown BP girl. (I use to do that in pre Eccie and Aspd days and have many regrettful memories because of it).

As a possible alternative to asking for personal information, you could ask the hobbiest to send you a PM with names of some provider's he's seen. Then, in addition to checking with those providers, you could research more on the hobbiest from his handle, looking at his reviews or other participation in the site. Of course if they are lurkers or even just Registered Members with no history of participation in the site, I would suggest screening the hell out of them to be safe.

So the simple answer is in the DFW area we have a lot of quality FBSM providers that don't require screening for us to book with them.

Thanks Survivor! Actually, personal info is the last thing I ask for. Sometimes, they can just be screened with the basic info in the first email. It's the references that are provided that is the problem. And your post explains why I bang my head against the wall repeatedly... Lol Because I do exactly what you suggested. Screen the gent AND the providers. And that also is telling as to if their previous sessions are a deviation from my sessions, so that I can clarify, so that there aren't any expectations of other menu items that I do not offer. With ladies that don't screen, more than likely they won't remember you or may not respond to a reference request. Though that happens with ladies that do screen too. I do request that gents give me the names and other relevant info of 2 ladies that they have reviewed or have given them OKs etc, to get in touch with that are reference friendly and would remember them. It's clearly stated on my website so that it can go as smoothly as possible. And it has been incredibly difficult to get that info. Or the girl might have 2 reviews, one good, one bad. Or may not be verifiable anywhere else. Or not have a website, etc, etc. One guy wanted to use his refs to schedule an appt for his friend, even though he knew better, one was wanting explicit emails, most cant come up with one reference, let alone two. If I am not familiar with you, your board presence only gives insight as to your personality. It is not an automatic pass go, collect $200. Just dealt with that mindset yesterday from here along with giving his P411 username which is not the same as his Client ID (I clarified BTW) and a take it or leave it vibe.

Your response made it crystal clear, so my head and the wall thanks you. The ECCIE tide has to turn as some point... Lol This board is great though, much better than TER as far as discussions and the treatment of providers.
