best liquour

I am a vodka drinker and I normally mix it with cranberry. I want to switch to drinking some type of liquor just straight or on the rocks. Any suggestions as to what I might try?
remove cranberry juice
Not sure if it's a logical move from Vodka:

I came to Scotch late in life. Before that I liked Bourbon on the rocks or Bourbon and water. There are so many different tastes in Scotch I bet you can find one you like neat or on the rocks. If it's really good Scotch, I like it neat.

Cheers mate!

Vodka tonic
Monopolowa en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monopolowa, KRU for about 20 bucks a half gallon or www.belvederevodka.com/ if you feel like spending 60 bucks.

Bang on with the scotch start with a three ariline bottle sampler from Goody Goody the 12, 15, and 18 are are all wonderful.

Knob Creek or Woodford Reserve if you want to try a whiskey
Jager Bombs
How does a jager bomb classify as straight liquor or on the rocks?

I'm a Jack 'n diet or Crown drinker myself but Balvenie 12 Year Old Doublewood Single Malt is pretty damn good sipping.

have u tried tito's vodka or deep eddy vodka, both distilled in austin, tx? u definitely don't want to put cranberry in that.

also deep eddy makes a sweet tea vodka that you could add a little lemonade to and make an adult arnold palmer

Jameson Irish Whiskey, especially the 18-year-old. Smooth as honey going down your throat. There's only one thing I like better going down MY throat.
It's Irish Whiskey that makes it so hard to get those panties on!
If you're a Vodka/Cran drinker you can try to up the ante and drink it straight but you also want to ease into it so you can start with something like Kettle One Citron which is vodka with a bit of citrus (lemon) flavor...or Ciroc, I like to squeeze a bit of lime in it and drink it on the rocks, its made from grapes so it is less harsh for those who don't like the true Vodka notes.

If you want to move away from Vodka then i'd say you can goto a Scotch (Johnny Walker Black is a good neutral start) or even a Macallan 12, so you can get a feel for it before you get into single malts and other expensive tastes, even a Chivas would do. You can also try rum, there are many greats out there to sip like Appleton Estate, or even a smooth tequila if you like the flavor...I personally don't like the aged tequila (anejo) and prefer the white ones (tequila blanco).

Its easy to get lost in the liquor store but I am going to recommend that you take a trip out to Spec's which is off of 75 and Walnut Hill, probably the largest variety you'll find in Dallas, and take an hour to wander before choosing. You may end up walking out with a nice Sake to drink, never know.
