Back At It!!!

Irish14's Avatar
So I half-heartedly decided to get back into shape for 2014. My goal is to surpass my best physical condition ever which was MANY years ago! Four weeks training with a former D2 National Wrestling Champ and I'm down 25 pounds and feeling great! The best part is the shear stress relief and improved performance! Never too late to get started! Do it!

Just your daily motivational tidbit... Carry On!

Good for you my friend! I'm on the same boat with ya but at a little slower pace
Good job Irish....wish I could say the same. I was in a car accident in early Dec. and have been laid up for 8 weeks. Just starting to get back into the swing of things. I will need to lose my winter baggage when I'm able.
Atta boy. I'm on a bulk at the moment so I get to eat as much as possible but lift heavy six days a week. Keep at it and it'll pay off. The ladies don't mind the results either

Personally, I take both whey and casein protein, creatine, a good vitamin and fish oil. The rest is all diet.

I'm in my 50's so I'm probably older than most of you mugs but I'm hard at it as well.
A little over a year ago I got tired of feeling sorry for myself and decided to get in fighting shape again as well. My beer gut is completely gone now and I will have my 6 pack abs back by summer. Cardio, diet, weights and Jujitsu / Kung Fu keep me busy.
My trainer wants me to bulk up now but I'm obsessed with getting rid of any fat and believe me the older you get the harder it is. I'm on 1400 calories a day for now along with 5-HTP, CLA, Bulgarian Tribulus, L-Carnitine. My Testosterone was low so I inject it weekly (very little) to get the numbers back up. (Made all of the difference in the world.) I'm Leary of Creatine because my son used it years ago and now he suffers from kidney stones.
I have learned that cardio and weights mean absolutely nothing if you don't make your diet a priority.

It's Tracy's Karate which uses those forms. However I also take Jujitsu in it's purer form as well. Weapons are fun but that's another thread. Jujitsu is great. IMHO it's way better than Tae Kwon D. Every time we had a tourney we would wipe the mat with them. They will no longer match with us. Just my personal experience folks in my local area. But I firmly believe it's better.
