I went into a store where they sell adult magazines. Not a single one of the new Playboys had sold. The new format is without nudity. I noticed the Hustlers, and Penthouses had all sold quite a few. Not Playboy.
That was like fucking marketing genius to remove the whole reason men bought Playboy in the first place. A lot of the former playmates are saying now they wished they hadn't been completely naked. Maybe they wish they hadn't been paid too.
Who still buys naughty magazines when we have the Internet?
My favorite has always been Barely Legal but in the new issue the girls all look about 30.
Overall Magazine sales are only down 1.9% , news stand sales are quite a bit lower that's true but over all only down 1.9% as newsstand sales are a small part of sales .
Playboy not only went no nudes , they changed everything , comics, jokes , regular features all gone . Some say this was done to put the final nail in the coffin , opening up them to file for bankruptcy .
Magazines are dying. There is a bigger selection of everything on the www.
