If only the provider clock was as slow as Eccie tonight

I think it is the traffic it is getting.

When it is slow, see how many people are logged in.

Could be related to time of day also along with net traffic on certain servers.
I often log on early in the morning--4-6AM and found that at times it stops for almost a minute before serving a new page. Could be system backups and maintenance at that hour, don't know.

Overall, it is slower since I have just upgraded my ISP connection and eccie still runs slow.

I'm sure it was a technical issue. Got the dreaded "Database Error" message last night about 10. After about 15 minutes, everything was back up and running faster than ever. Still running fast.
This works great for determining if it's you or everyone when it's down.

I too have seen the system drag in the wee hours of the morning I ASSuME that it the database backups. which assumes that they actually backup the database, they are using a backup scheme that effects usage, and that it happens between 3-6am

I still hold that archiving off some old data might be helpful ie: weekend line up older than a few weeks probably isn't useful to anyone. unless you really need to know that *Shannon Shane* was available 4 years ago.
