Flooding?

People have called me and told me there were no problems in most of Memphis. Should I postpone coming? In reference to Tammy's post, anyone that is heartless enough to leave a pet behind is just inhuman and I hope I never meet them. I have two rescue dogs, inconvenient as they are sometimes. I hope everyone else is okay.

Kate,

The areas of Memphis impacted are low-lying areas mostly along the rivers and streams feeding the Mississippi. I am looking out over the river right now and downtown itself is dry and safe, though Mud Island Park and the parks along the Mississippi River are under water. It is also dry and safe at the usual upscale areas where incalls are established in East Memphis. So, no reason to cancel.

It is a terrible tragedy for those who do live in the areas evacuated, and our prayers need to go to them that they are safe and can recover from their losses.

Memphis is one of my favorite cities in America--I am semi-retired and not traveling as much so I am trying to be careful with my time. I might have to find a permanent residence there when I retire for good!! I'll be there soon and post a schedule.

Thanks everyone!!
