Missing thread

I am wondering why the thread that was active in the COED subforum removed?

#27 - ECCIE policy regarding the discussion of competing websites is intended to exhibit a straight-forward and simple approach. We do not disallow mention of other sites here at ECCIE, however we ask that you limit those discussions to the "Other Hobby Sites" thread located in the Member Suggestions and Feedback forum. This is the area that we have designated as being an appropriate outlet for these types of discussions. Posts of this nature made in other forums throughout the board will be merged into this location. If you find these types of posts in your local forums, please use the RTM function to report them to staff.

It doesn't seem to break the rules and doesn't seem to have been moved and merged into the stated forum.

I though the thread had some valuable info, that some members may not be aware of.

Just wondering why it was deleted.
If you are referring to the P411 thread, the "valuable info" was not valuable.

Firstly, the report was a hoax.

Secondly, P411 does NOT retain any customer information after verification AND the credit card processor does not retain any credit card information, thus any speculation regarding what could be obtained via subpoena (which is extremely unlikely anyway) was moot. Those speculating that the P411 site retains personal information have obviously never read the Privacy Policy.

The thread was moved to staff area.
Removing of the thread seemed to go against ECCIE's rules. I was wondering if it was because it was not flattering of an ECCIE sponsor that it had been removed.

The valuable info, was not the false info, but rather the indexing of data by the NSA....whether data had been saved or not on the site.

Not trying to start another thread if it is a forbidden topic, just looking for clarification. As Eccie rules say threads won't be deleted, but merely closed.

Also, I have always wondered, are you a mod Urfriend?

It was temporarily removed by the Mod to a Staff area for discussion since it contained contents of a private communication (even if it was spam). It will be returned shortly with edits. Once it is returned, I, or someone else will explain further.

There is not an effort to removed it because it was not flattering to an ECCIE sponsor.

I can answer the Mod question for Ufriend... no, he is not a Mod but understands the system very well and is quite helpful in answering questions. He is very good at researching a subject!

Smooch!

Thanks darlin', and may I say, you are very good at the "waltz"!!

I did temporarily remove the post from public view. The reason was in two parts. First:

#9 - No form of private communications between members are to be posted in our forums. This includes the contents of emails, PMs, IMs, private chat logs, privately shared images, etc. This is an invasion of another's privacy and will not be allowed.
It is a clear violation to post any such info regardless of the content.

Second: it was a hoax. It was sent by a person withan ax to grind. All you have to do is look at the email address. Further, the DOJ has zero jurisdiction over a Canadian company.

In an earlier post you mentioned guideline #27. You are correct, P411 is not a competing site so it's not applicable. It might have been helpful if it was accurate. BUT when it has been proven it is a hoax and just dead wrong, I am going to edit it.

I would have liked to have gotten to it earlier, but I was in Internet hell today. My apologies for that.

Y'all have a great evening and feel free to PM me if you have any further questions.

Stick
I was just wondering, if there was an unwritten rule...just wanted to know for the future so I would not post on such a thread.

You are right about rule #9, didn't think about that.

Thanks for clearing it up Mods!

Urfriend is very helpful, we have had a few different mods lately, I was wondering if we were due to welcome a new mod. Though I see we now have Wiley?
