Phoenix is not really known for its great BBQ Amber, but there a few good places around.

BobbyQ http://www.bobbyqphx.com/#about is pretty good
Rudys (the Texas chain) has two locations in town, in Goodyear and Chandler and probably my favorite

We we in Phoenix not long ago and ate at Texas BBQ House (http://www.texasbbqhouseaz.com/) and it was very good that day.
Actually there is one place in Phoenix that is rated on par with some of the best bbq joints in Texas. The only brisket that I've had thats better is Franklin's in ATX. Have to go to little miss bbq near the airport.

I think she might be referring to BBQing (burgers, brats, etc) in general, not BBQ specifically. Just the way I read it...

Hah! I was right!

I'd invite you, Amber, but not sure how I'd explain you to my wife.
