KC Events Oct 1st-3rd?

Is there anything going on Oct 1st-3rd in KC that would be worth going and seeing or doing while I am in town?
I don't think I have ever gotten out and just enjoyed the city so thought I would find something fun and interesting to do.
Or maybe can anyone point me in the direction of the best hole in the wall place to eat? Big Foodie!! he he
