Of course, the original "summer of love" centered around Haight-Ashbury, where large crowds converged to enjoy music, free love, anti-war protests, and plenty of [redacted].
But is the mayor unaware of what else happened that very summer? (It's widely known as "the long hot summer of 1967.")
