Why is Music, Film and Television Dominated by Left-thinkers?

Chung Tran's Avatar
everyone knows and agrees, but I never really see an explanation. is it because themes of justice, fairness, and opportunity resonate from "the left", and right-leaning themes fail to excite passion?

where are the Fondas, Streisands, or Mel Brooks and Norman Lear on the right?

you got Clint Eastwood.. his Richard Jewel film is something to go on.. but he is a rare toad.

musically you got, um.. hang on.

Ray Stevens
Pat Boone
Charlie Daniels
Ted Nugent

none of whom made popular music that reflected their political leanings, unless you count Pat Boone's religious music made long after he became popular stealing from black musicians, whose politics and lifestyles he abhorred. those 4 listed are considered to be right-wing goons, the butt of jokes.. is there a true conservative POPULAR musician of note, that I missed?

answer my question, though.. why so very few Conservatives represented?

The big 5 personality dynamics are a tremendous predictor of things like that. Trait openness in particular. Folks who are high in trait openness also tend to more liberal politically along with those who rate higher in "agree-ability". Those who rate lower in trait openness and higher in conscientiousness seem to be less artistic and more conservative.
Also, I'd certainly say it's true that there is something of an echo chamber that exists in TV and movies that is dominated by left wing politics. Conservatives in Hollywood tend to be somewhat under the radar.

The left has instilled fear into many on the right, fear for their career and reputations. Look at Mel Gibson. He was the same guy that he was before a drunken tirade on the side of the road. Then the left decided that he was a monster. Same for democrat Donald Trump, he liked women, he had sex with porno actresses, he knew Jeffrey Epstein, and he was honored by Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer, and Hillary Clinton, plus Jesse Jackson. Then he got smart and became a republican. Same guy but now the dems hated him. Should ask the left why they are such vicious little pieces of shit.

These particular areas give voice to the liberals, so they are the most vocal and outspoken. There have been lots of celebrities who just stay under the radar politically, it's the loudmouth liberals that get the press at that level.

And then the power brokers in those industries are largely entrenched in the liberal bent of those areas as well, even while they happily take other peoples money daily.

many in Hollywood are in deep cover

peer and job pressure keep some from speaking their mind

just like homosexuals were in the closet, so are conservatives

and then there is the hubris angle, the sneer of command, not a good fit with what is the basis of conservatism

the love of things and hedonism makes some forget their first love and to postpone family, of which, love and family, tend to be a check on wild abandon

then there is the awkwardness of surplus, that causes the need to feel better by adopting liberal causes however misplaced and against the true nature of man they might be and which don't require much in the way of personal sacrifice

and of course, leftism has another purpose for the rich, its sop and giveaway to the commoners form a bulwark against peasants at the gate
