Was Weiner just trying to break free from repression, or was it that he could not repress his urge offer free wiener? (Or: Maybe Weiner has an out and that's why he outed his wiener?)

Enough about Weiner, this thread is really about the following two articles, and do you agree?:

New York Is The Least Free State, Study Finds

"New York isn't North Korea, but it's the closest thing you'll find in the U.S. -- at least according to a new report from a libertarian think tank."

well, In upstate NY, city of Rochester, real estate taxs on a 520sq ft , 1 bdrm shoebox with no garage , assesed at 65000. is $3310. or $275.80 mo. I guess people in other states could compare and come to their own conclusion, I know its low cause every lib here says I dont care about people and dont pay enough. Out in the burbs, a modest 1320sq ft will run you approx $6200. or $516. per mo. no wonder after sucking the life out of people while they work to make the mortgage payments, they can finally retire only to have to sell their house and flee out of state cause the tax bill is another mortgage that will never reduce. The city of Rochester has offensive c of o requirements that no other city in the country, or world, has to abide by.

the gay marriage thing is all but done. I could care except that anywhere it is brought before the people for vote, it is shot down.So , they have to ram it through with legislation or try through the stacked courts.

**The rankings in the "Freedom in the 50 States" index are highly subjective. For example, on one particularly contested issue, abortion, the authors punted: "Rather than take a stand," they write, they simply "coded the data" on abortion and didn't include it in their final tally.
