Socials?

I have seen the term socials mentioned several times. What are they? Meet and greets? When and where do they happen?

Haven't seen it done here, but a very popular board in South Florida does these "get-togethers" regularly, I understand they are a pretty popular event. Usually organized by a senior board member in cooperation with an agency owner.

They have done them, but have not seen any setup for some time now.

The Sin City Soiree occurs in New Orleans seasonally. They are also hosted in cities such as Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Chicago and New York City. It seems like the folks who organize them make it to New Orleans every few months or so—one took place a few days ago.

Sin City Soiree is basically an orgy, not a social. A social is a meet and greet, generally set up in a public place but sometimes private.

There have been a few here over the past 10 years I've been involved in the hobby. One I attended was in a hotel suite arranged by a provider who no longer lives in the area. Another one that I attended was about 4 years ago put on by Heidi held at a French Quarter bar. There was another one that I'm aware of held sometime between those two that I did not attend.

Basically, somebody just decides to set one up and sees how many people are interested and can attend on a certain date. Whoever can make it shows up.

Did you attend??

Went to the one uptown at a bar ... Hosted by a now agency owner. The function was put together nicely. All who attended seemed to enjoy themselves... I believe it was almost 2 years ago as I moved back to NOLA. Correct me if I am wrong on date. ..lol
