School Play

Here's another happening:

So just a couple o' years ago I got dragged off to see one o'
those secondary school plays that the kids do. But it was on the weekend, and the Pub was doing a "wet tee shirt nite" and I didn't want to miss THAT.

So I was hoping that the play wouldn't run on too long and I would make it to the Pub in time. The play was "The Diary of Anne Frank"... How long could it be??

So there I am, sitting amoung the crowd and looking at me watch the whole time. Getting later and later as I'm watching the tedious people piss-about the stage, Meaps and what-not, and I will confess that I surely couldn't handle it any longer.

When the soldiers stepped into the scene, I decided to move the action along: I called out -
"CHECK THE ATTIC - THAT'S WHERE THEY'RE ALL HIDING!"

And guess what? ... They sent me out of the Auditorium - I made the Pub in time - and had a GREAT rest of the evening!
