Do you think the World is getting Better or Worse Overall?

The key word here is Overall.

I think its better than ever.

I think its also worse than ever

Its both at the same time. Theres more of everything

But by a HUGE Margin, its Way better than at any point in History IMHO

the 2 reasons that would make me say that are digital technology and advances in medicine.. I could turn around and say digital technology has caused a lot of problems (inattention, impaired social skills, even a marked increase in near-sightedness).. and medicinal advances have masked the fact that many older people die slowly, in poor health and near-poverty.

but if relative wealth and less physical exertion are your barometers of "better", then yes, this point in history is unmatched.

I think it's not a specific enough question. Better or worse in what respect? That being said I think the arc of progress still generally points upward, but it doesn't do so in all areas or in a straight line. So on average, things are most.y better than they have been and will most,y continue to improve, especially if you take a long enough slice of time.
I'll just say this. I was in high school in the late 1970's. I haven't read it but have heard many times about Tom Brokaw's book "The Greatest Generation". It's the post WWII generation. I honestly and whole heartedly believe my generation was "the last GOOD generation to grow up in". If you were in high school in the mid to late eighties you still missed the best generation.

I admit I wish I was younger but I am truly thankful I grew up when I did.
The real question is . . . Why overthink it and grow up?

A lot of people seem to talk about the " good old days", when values, and morals were better. The young people today are lazy and have a sense of entitlement. Our government is so crooked. Our healthcare system is horrible. Our food is chemicalized, There are not enough good jobs, " they don't make em like they used to", Crime is rampant, terrorism, etc, people are leaving the churches, we don't respect our elders, etc, etc

Websites like eccie, porno sites, etc

Just the general state of mankind. I think these are the very best of times. And to really bring it home, I can search the internet for beautiful girls to have sex with and we both go our separate ways,
Petting a horse and looking it in the eyes always has been and always will be good for the soul. Wish I had a horse.

For every advancement we achieve in quality of life, we give up something else of value.
The loss doesn't always present itself immediately, many times it's an indirect side-effect.

The one thing that is true....these are very interesting and entertaining times.

I believe education is the key. However, what we have now is state funded child care.

Istagram, twitter and snap chap are the things they know.

Completely unprepared for life. I bet if when you were 18, Camero, and given a bag of groceries, a tank of gas and $100, you could figure life out. It may have sucked. You would have figured it out, none the less.

Today they'd be fucked. Well I'm sure they could get a gofundme page and do better, so maybe you and I are wrong. Lol.....

while I don't disagree, grean, I also realize that every generation that came before said the same general thing about the generation that immediately followed..

and you can append that with "their music sucks".

Better. However, the rate at which we hear about the 1%-5% that does bad shit has increased due to mass/social media.

Much of it has to do with te pace of change. Technology and A.I. are getting close to critical mass. Evolution can't keep up with the pace of science and technology. They are the new religion and celebrity the God. Parents have become secondary educators in all things including work ethics and morality.

Google commercials for Watson. A.I. is replacing our need for rational thought. We have become "the tool of our tools". Humans ability to adapt is what got us this far, now our lack of ability to adapt as quickly tech. is growing has put mankind behind the 8 ball. In less than a generation my education has become obsolete.

When A.I. does reach critical mass we had better have figure out a way to harness it, or it will harness us.

For better or worse humanity is fast approaching a crossroad, let's just hope we aren't moving to fast to choose the right path.

Kind of fatalistic look.

So here's a joke.

How is marriage like a deck of cards?

Starts out with two hearts and a diamond......

End looking for club and spade!
