Top **** Reasons NOT to show up for a session....

In the hobbying world.....we come across many obstacles that prevent us from enjoying our activity

Over the years, I find it a coincidence that the "reasons" for not showing up or cancelling seem to be....uh....very much the same? HA...I know....it can be comical, and the bizarre thing is that perhaps a small percentage is actually being honest? This goes for both sides...the provider and the hobbyist.

Thought it would be entertaining to evaluate the most common exuses:

1) I woke up with a bad cough and/or cold
2) I got a flat tire on my way to see you
3) My SO is sniffing around
4) I ran out of gas (in my car that is)
5) I have a meeting that was scheduled at the last minute
6) I need to take my dog to the vet
7) Car trouble....
8) I have relatives in town...

Would anyone like to add?

My child/mom/dad/SO/sister/brother/room mate got sick.

Dont get me wrong here. Not suggesting people dont get sick - just that it is such a coincidence that it happens more often if you have scheduled a session than not ! LOL !! And it is tough to say anything when you are told this excuse. Fool proof really, I guess !!

I'm just an LMT, but we have similar appointment-keeping issues. Here are a couple of my better ones:

"I just got pulled over by a cop, and he detained me because my name is similar to my brother who has a record, but I don't." This client actually wanted to keep the appointment, and my schedule happened to allow for his lateness that day. He turned out to be a great guy.

I had another client text saying he was "right in my area, can you see me in 10 minutes?" I was available so I booked the appointment and he texted back 5 minutes later to say he'd been in a car accident and was stuck waiting on the wrecker. Of course I told him it was no problem and I hoped he was ok. I actually hoped it wasn't true and that he had just changed his mind about seeing me.

I mostly deal with busy professionals so I get some "last minute meeting" or "got called back to the office" cancellations.

Honestly, it doesn't bother me if somebody needs to cancel, AS LONG AS THEY CANCEL. I don't hassle, charge, DNA (Do Not Answer), or even need a reason from a client as long as he texts/calls to let me know. The most you'll ever get from me is, "No problem, thanks so much for letting me know and have a great day!" No excuses necessary.

There is nothing more frustrating than an NCNS because I often get multiple requests for the same time slot. I can sometimes re-book that slot if the original client lets me know they can't make it. If somebody no-shows, everybody loses because it's usually too late.

To me, it's just common courtesy. I never understand why somebody makes the time and effort to book an appointment then not only not keep it, but not cancel either.
Have to go make a pick up!
I decided to stay home and jerk off to your showcase.

I'm sorry but I find it hard to believe that anyone actually cancels on you when they have the chance to see you... I'd think it would take an act of God for me to cancel on you.

Aunt Flow...but think about it, for some girls it really is unpredictable and debilitating. My SO, my daughter and one of my rotation I'm pretty close with all have this issue, so I know it is legit
thats so funny because today I was late to one of my appts because my dog got loose in my apartment complex...
I got pulled over on the way to your place.

I just got into a finder bender.
