Inflation still almost 18% higher today than when Biden took office!

Has a person income increased by 18%? Here is the answer, no it hasn’t , in fact they are down over 15%!

That begs the question, just how ignorant is the average American voter? We will get the answer come November.

Went into a burger and salade restaurant here in Houston called "Niner's". It is a local chain but think Five Guys; that sort of place and very nice for the type of place it is.

We each got a cheeseburger, fries and a medium drink,

For the two of us it came to a dollar less than forty bucks.

Imagine if we went in with the grandkids and their parents (for aults and two teens) . . . .over a c-note for sure . . for hamburgers at a place where they expect you to bus your own table.

I view what we call inflation in a different light. What I am seeing is not so much that the price of everything has gone up as aI view it as being how much the value of our money has gone down.

The dollar ahs lost so much value that I am facing a challenge getting something suitable to mark our fiftieth Anniversary.

Because we the people with money are living the good life and we spend spend spend. Just to make sure corporations are making record profits for their shareholders.
Heck I even took a look at my shareholder gains and vegas here I come.

Constantly complaining about everything guarantees no success. Just look at the king of bankruptcy lol

Bitching just to bitch? Or bitching for others? OP won't stop. Even though he's "successful."

Maybe he should have put that "success" in some English composition classes.

As far as your “punch line” … well we’ve got proof of that, don’t we?

My direct experience is that my retirement from working at a VS hospital has not gone up by 18%. . . . .but what we pay for the same bag of groceries is much higher. Sorry Yassup, I can ot document any numbers for you, but that is my testimony here.

A local McDonalds has a "We "Are Hiring" Sign out with note that starting wages are $10/hr. Inside there is only one register set up and you place your order yourself on one of four three-foot-tall touch screens. I am guessing that each touch screen replaces at least one order taker/cashier per shift at $40/hr. . . .or maybe eight people not working per day. EVen with the initial cost, the savings in labor cost must be considered to be worth it by someone at the corporate level.

Wages may be going up, but the local McDonalds is employing fewer workers.

Sometimes, I get the feeling that this board and the underlying premise for it is a sort of socio-economic screen.

I am no longer active in the hobby for several reasons connected directly and indirectly with either health or lifestyle in retirement. Others active on this political forum though are also active Hobbyists, which means they are (bless 'em) able to pay attorney level fees for the intimate company of women. Many to most are just doing slightly above the level of "just OK" in life and hobby as time and resources sallow, but . . .for some, their total yearly Hobby budget exceeds what I used to maske in my best years while working.

All that is fine, and I congratulate everyone on not living hand-to-mouth or check to check every week. My point is that because we, on these forums here, are economically able to hobby, that places us in a cut of society that is much less worried about how much we spend on the necessities of life, food, shelter nd so on.

This may color or skew our perception of the state of the economy.

No question inflation is outpacing wages and as always those who work the hardest will suffer the most. The question posed in the OP is about voters and how November will turn out but unfortunately this election is not about the economy. Or social security. Or educational infrastructure. Or healthcare reform.

For President do we really have a choice? A senile old relic who no longer has the capacity to lead and even if he did might be more of a buffoon that whoever is making decisions currently. No thanks.

On the other side we have an old grouch who tried to squat in the White House once already but had demonstrated the alibility to do the job and lost once already to the former VP because his ego consumed him in the process.

Politically we are so divided that not much else enters into the equation so I think until voters get better choices we don't have much choice outside of voting against the bigger joke of a candidate
