Since it's that time of year I am hunting a good "hot toddy" recipe. For a couple of weeks now I have been feeling pretty rough, sinuses, cough, chest congestion, etc. I've been to the doctor and of course I get the old "it's got to run it's course" diagnosis. So my question is, what is your favorite hot toddy recipe. I have never made one and only drank a couple in my life so your help and recipes would be greatly appreciated.

Nothing written down, just "handed down" by word of mouth.

  • Hot water
  • Lemon Juice
  • Bourbon
  • Honey (to taste)
Find a big coffee mug, heat enough water to fill it but still leave room for the other ingredients.

When the water is hot,
  • pour in to the mug,
  • then add the juice of half a lemon.
  • 1-2 shots of Bourbon or Tennessee Whiskey
  • Add honey to taste
These may not cure the cold, but after a couple of them, you won't really care!

Hope you feel better!

Oops! I was going to post the recipe for the Shack BBQ sauce.
Ginger always seems to make people feel good. You might want to add some to your toddy.

1 ounce bourbon whiskey
1/2 ounce ginger liqueur
1 Tablespoon honey
1 teaspoon lemon juice
Hot water

Pour the liquor, honey and lemon into an Irish coffee glass. Top with hot water. Stir.

Just drink the bourbon straight. Works much faster that way. PM for a list of the preferred good stuff.
Thank you I have added those sites to my favorites list for future reference. I have to do something to shake this crap.

Damn Ginger I love your avatar.
