I think that revelation came from a release of tapes from the LBJ presidency.

Poor Seedy, you remind me of an early toddler sitting in a crib curiously playing with his/her excrement with a sense of wonder. Well, something may be new to you but that doesn't mean it is new.

While Congress then acted much the same as the 2002/3 version, there was a significant anti-war group who did not. Granted, though the size of that movement at the time of the Gulf of Tonkin "Incident" was small compared to its number 5 years later, it was there and received coverage from the "lamestream media." And, as some "patriots" will point out, the anti-Viet Nam War movement was comprised in a large part of potential draftees who were, shall we say, not real keen on being sacrificed in a war the USA was not trying to win - but THAT is a topic for another thread.

No news here. And, no point, either.

Careful Candy, you're getting into dangerous and unfamiliar territory for you. A hint; you know that ship in the movie Heart Break Ridge? The ship that the marines air lifted from? That was not the real ship that was involved. It was my ship that was involved.

Knee jerk reaction for some around here. The U.S. does something that bolsters people's spirits and they are against it. Some people just don't deserve their citizenship in this country.

.. I suppose you have lots of posts of mine in which I sung "Ronnie's" praises ... right?

Or was that just one of your ... ASSumptions?

Knee jerk reaction for some around here. The U.S. does something that bolsters people's spirits and they are against it. Neither for it or against it, just relating what it was. It needed to be done but let's not make it into some big whooptie-do that is obviously wasn't. This was probably like your illustrious 8th grade athletic career - increasing in magnitude with age. Some people just don't deserve their citizenship in this country. Especially the ones like you who cannot grasp reading for comprehension. What was I answering, doofus? Who gives a rat's ass whether or not they used your ship or a bull ship when they made the flick. Much was made at the time of how the good ol' USA needed to have a win, any kind of a win and it was ballyhooed about how we would just get in and get out. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news to you revisionists.

Back to the gym floor with you, Corneyhole, there's buffing to be done. Be careful of gritsboy over there in the corner - the paint might still be wet.
