Capri used to be under surveillance back in the 70's early 80's due to "Italian" ownership-that much I know for certain. I've heard rumors that several people that would go to meetings there were never seen again-that is rumor to me as I've never been able to verify, but the wars of the 70's in NE make it very plausible.

The area around the Capri had a lot of mob activity, in addition to the hotels i mentioned you had Palmentere brothers trucking, Virgin Tavern (admiral and Virgina), Local 53 or is it 51 on Admiral and I -29, Chubbies burgers, Passintino's brothers Funural home, I could go on and on but lets just say you could not throw a rock in any direction without hitting olive oil. Columbas park at that time and the Market area was nothing but Italian "family" owned businesses
