The "caliber" is not "the issue."

You mean they didn't test a 10mm?

Wouldn’t this be better in the Sandbox?

The video is not about home defense.

For home defense, the answer to the question is a 12 gage shotgun.

semi-automatic pistols for home defense (any kind of defense really) are the main topic.

Most of the time you don't have to fire. So which round is the most intimidating just by sound. 12 gauge pump.

The other factor is WTF do you have in your home that you have feel the need to josey wales the fuck out of every intruder

Late night (early morning) posting is as challenging as late night (early morning) home defense when impaired.

I'm familiar with an incident years ago in San Antonio when an estranged police officer went to his former residence where his soon to be former wife was still residing and when she saw him out the window coming up to the front door she ran into the garage, opened the garage door, and then hit the button so it would close behind her. As the garage door was coming down the cop shot at the door with his service revolver (he was in uniform BTW) in an effort to hit her. The round passed through the door, went across the street, entered the house across the street, and ended up inside a "metal bread box" in the kitchen about 5 feet from the family eating breakfast at the table in the kitchen.

The front of the bread box looked like a funnel.

I didn't look at the "film" ... made the basis of this thread in order to preserve the integrity of my computer. But it's not necessary.

The U.S. Marshals Office pretty much has the weapon and ammo selection down when it comes to protecting buildings with innocents inside. That's what they do daily and have for years. The air marshalls do as well.
People keep saying "home defense" but rarely describe what kind of home they are defending. If I lived on a plot of land where the house was like 50 yards from the road, and there are many like this in Texas, my weapon would either be a shotgun, or most likely a rifle.

Something you can shoot, and hit what your aiming at, and trust the weapon. And always have a flashlight at hand! ( unlike the Dallas cop)
