I feel compelled to issue an apology regarding the last two lines of the below message and I wish to clarify it for accuracy. Shipping them directly across the boarder would violate Oh Canada law because it is, ironically enough, illegal to ship illegals into Oh Canada.

Most of my family tree came to America after 1900 and before WW-II. All came in legally with all their "papers in order". All came in to te USA through Ellis Island and faced the real prospect of being turned away for any of several reasons, poor health being one of them. Most got their name changed.

All became citizens in whatever the "normal way" was at the time. Nobody gave them anything. Well, my father did get the GI Bill after surviving the waqr. Over half his family back in eastern Europe did not. Those that did lived under Soviet communism well into the 1990s though.

My family well understands what BOTH Socialism and Fascism mean. Their theory and ideology may seem different, but at their dark hearts there is no difference for regular folks.

Sadly, that generation has passed away now, taking their knowledge and experience of what they fought for, and fought against, with them. From the "Millennials, Gen-X, Gen-Z" and onward, those lessons may have to be learned again . . .the hard way.
