Why Did a Staffer in a Trump PAC Have Classified Docs On Her Laptop?

Why would a staffer in Trump's Political Action Committee have scanned classified docs on her laptop?

Unless her last name is Biden or Clinton, she could be in serious legal jeopardy.
According to Trump, she should be in legal peril. He signed a law to that effect.

HRC was cleared to see those 150,000 emails. Only two sentences out of 150,000 emails were marked classified. Trumps staffer did not have any clearance to see classified information.

Trump Lawyers Turned Over More Classified Materials And A Laptop To DOJ, Reports Say

Key Facts

Handovers to the DOJ included an aide’s laptop, documents marked classified found at Mar-A-Lago and an empty folder titled “Classified Evening Briefings,” CNN reported, citing multiple unnamed sources.

An aide to Trump put digital copies of the documents on a thumb drive and then uploaded them to the laptop, not knowing they were classified, according to CNN.

It’s not clear what information the documents might have contained.

A Trump campaign spokesman did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Forbes.

per Forbes citing CNN, it was a aide. no mention of PAC's

now where did you find that statement? Seems the FBI has a different count.

https://www.fbi.gov/news/press-relea...-e-mail-system

"For example, seven e-mail chains concern matters that were classified at the Top Secret/Special Access Program level when they were sent and received. These chains involved Secretary Clinton both sending e-mails about those matters and receiving e-mails from others about the same matters. There is evidence to support a conclusion that any reasonable person in Secretary Clinton’s position, or in the position of those government employees with whom she was corresponding about these matters, should have known that an unclassified system was no place for that conversation. In addition to this highly sensitive information, we also found information that was properly classified as Secret by the U.S. Intelligence Community at the time it was discussed on e-mail (that is, excluding the later “up-classified” e-mails)."

"None of these e-mails should have been on any kind of unclassified system, but their presence is especially concerning because all of these e-mails were housed on unclassified personal servers not even supported by full-time security staff, like those found at Departments and Agencies of the U.S. Government—or even with a commercial service like Gmail."

"Separately, it is important to say something about the marking of classified information. Only a very small number of the e-mails containing classified information bore markings indicating the presence of classified information. But even if information is not marked “classified” in an e-mail, participants who know or should know that the subject matter is classified are still obligated to protect it"

how do you or anyone else at this point know that the aide was not cleared at the time to see any classified material?

“Additionally, sources tell ABC News that a laptop belonging to a current aide of the former president was also provided to federal agents.”

I presume current aide is someone that should not have the information on their laptop.

A Trump aide had previously copied those same pages onto a thumb drive and laptop, not realizing they were classified, sources said. The laptop, which belonged to an aide, who works for Save America PAC, and the thumb drive were also given to investigators in January.

Reading the entire article sometimes helps. Unless you’re selectively cutting and pasting in order to mislead. We call that lying where I come from.
The real problem is they over classify documents. The second issue is there are more than one classification markings.

But way too much unnamed sources meaning the reporter probably just made up the sources.
Uh huh

Ones that were not marked classified, yes.

was Clinton authorized to erase emails that had been subpoenaed?

She was SOS. She could erase ones that were personal, for example the ones dealing with Chelsa's wedding.

now where did you find that statement? Seems the FBI has a different count.

It was in Comey's testimony before Congress.

Should know is the key phrase. You had staffers sending HRC emails that contained classified information THAT WERE NOT MARKED CLASSIFIED IN THE LABEL OF THE EMAIL. The burden is on the sender, not the other way around. You are not going to jail if someone send you a document that contains classified information, but WAS NOT marked classified.

Was the aide ever in the the Department of Defense or report to the Secretary of State. Why would some one in a political action committee need clearance to see classified information?
