there are a couple of Golf Courses in the area!
Within 30 minutes you can be at a number of courses including The Four Seasons in Irving where the Byron Nelson is held or The Colonial In Ft Worth. 2 Of the top courses in the country. There are 4 PGA courses in Grapevine as well more in the area. Check out the PGA web site.

you as one from Austin should stay home- arrogant Obama lover. Not to mention Wendy Davis. I find Austin 100 times more boring than anywhere. Your attitude is not Texan but a Californian immigrant. De-immigrate and go back.

It would be a good idea to control the negative attitude.

I apologize for my political outburst (above) which was away out of order. To Nicho and all who have read it. Just let politics enter the forum when not appropriate. Sorry

Downtown Grapevine is very charming to walk around.

There's a nice wine bar called "Into the Glass" right next to a wine store called "Off the Vine" LOL!

Here's a link: http://www.intotheglass.com/

I don't know if you're really from California, but the last Yelp review of Into the Glass was from a Cali transplant:

"I recently moved from LA and was afraid I wouldn't be able to find any creative delicious food that was made with local farmers market produce, I am happy to report I was wrong!"
I heard it through there....

it's a nice little town, good food, nice drinks, friendly people

There are two courses right around the corner from you that are good places to play. The Grapevine Muni has 27 holes and is always in grate shape. Right next door to that is the Cowboys course. Expensive but a great track.
