Not bad for a community organizer. Of course he’s buying it at a lower price. Income inequality at its finest.

Michelle Obama is worth an estimated $40 million all by herself, mainly due to her book "Becoming" which has been on the best sellers list forever.

The Obamas make their millions now from books and speaking engagements. It hardly takes a rocket scientist to know that simple fact. It's not that hard to comprehend.

Eisenhower was getting a 4 star General's retirement and was later president of Columbia. Kennedy didn't live past his term but the Kennedys had serious money so had he lived it would have been a drop in the bucket to him. LBJ also had a substantial net worth. it should be noted that his dad lost their fortune and LBJ became wealthy on his own. Nixon surprisingly was worth more than i would have thought. about 17 million. Ford had a relatively modest net worth of 8 million. about the same as Ike but you need to account for the difference between Ike's 8 mil in the 50/60's vs. Ford much later. Carter about 8 million. Carter's dad was relatively wealthy at his death but forgave a lot of debt and due to a large number of heirs, Carter got comparatively little. after a rough start Carter did become successful in farming. Reagan was never an A-list actor but steady work made him about 14 million. Bush's family had modest wealth but Bush made millions in oil. Clinton did not have a fortune prior to becoming president but milked it pretty good, i'd say. i doubt they were as flat broke as Hillary claimed but not nearly as wealthy as they are now. G Bush always had daddy's money so who cares? Obama also was not wealthy prior to becoming president, unlike now. he's also a Clinton-like example of how to milk being an ex-prez. Trump? by far the richest to be president.while not self-made he did expand his dad Fred's fortune of about 400 m into billions. Trump is also the only president ever to turn down a salary.

from Truman to Trump .. in order.

Truman < 1 m.
Eisenhower 9 m
Kennedy 10 m - less than you'd think but he had a large family and died young.
Johnson 109 m - 7th all time wealthiest
Nixon 17 m - more than i thought
Ford 8 m
Carter 8 m
Reagan 14 m
GHW Bush 26 m
Clinton 75 m
G Bush 39 m
Obama 40 m
Trump 3,100 m by far the wealthiest in fact more than all others combined

interestingly Washington and Jefferson are second and third all-time with Washington estimated at 587 m and Jefferson at 236 m.

35 of 45 presidents were/are millionaires. all numbers are adjusted for inflation to 2016 dollars.

^^^^Trump will probably cash in on his time in office more than any of them probably combined just for being such a polarizing figure. I can't even imagine what kind of lucrative book deals and speaking engagement fees that he will command when he either voluntarily or involuntarily steps away from office... I'm sure it will make how the Bushes, Obamas and Clintons are presently getting compensated look like chump change.

Trump Tower is down mainly because it's his primary residence and the added security is a turnoff for both commercial rentals and condo sales. Mar-A-Lago by contrast seems to be doing very well. as are some some of his overseas properties. his new Hotel in Washington appears to be raking it in. Trump did not run for president simply to line his pockets as many claim. he ran because he wanted to be president.

Trump will not leave office involuntarily. don't know your opinion of Trump as president but he's not going to resign and he won't be impeached successfully if there even is impeachment proceedings. a recent poll found the majority of polled people did not want Trump impeached.

here it is ..

Poll: Majority of Americans don't want Trump to be impeached and removed from office

https://www.yahoo.com/news/poll-majo...020551514.html

as expected the party affiliation matters greatly but only 39% of independents and of course only 8% of Republicans favor proceedings. mostly it is democratic voters. that's not enough for a majority in this poll. in fact of all who responded across party lines 59% do not favor impeachment. hardly the huge ground swell to impeach the media would like to portray.

the real reason he won't be impeached, despite the opinions of a few in this forum, is that Mueller found nothing impeachable. if he had, he would have said so and the so-called DOJ opinion of not indicting a sitting president didn't factor. Mueller said so in his testimony. and to Barr and the DOJ. the letter Mueller wrote to Barr and in direct conversations had nothing to do with what Barr's summary said, unlike what the media wants to claim, it was about the way the press itself tried to infer was in the report before it was even released. Mueller even in his testimony said nothing about Barr's summary being inaccurate. so the media's initial claims Barr whitewashed Mueller's report were false.
