Extortion seems to be on the increase
I'm a private investigator catering to high-end clients and attorneys. In the last year or so, I've had four cases where my client was being extorted by escorts - three from Backpage and one from ECCIE.
In all four cases, the clients engaged in too much pillow talk and let too much personal information slip.
In one case, he Forbidden Topic - AG with the girl and took her up on her offer to do sexy selfies with her - on her phone!
Another guy did an outcall at his house while the wife and kids were away. Genius.
In most cases, the girls started asking for money for an emergency and then kept coming back to the well, eventually extorting the guy.
Luckily, we were able to resolve these issues to our clients' satisfaction.
I guess we all know there is some danger to the hobby but if it is important that you keep your shit off the radar, then be cautious about who you see and where you see them.
Austinborderline: Thanks for posting (except for the mention of a prohibited topic, which should be deleted soon).
I'm an attorney. I'm frequently hired to deal with blackmailers, both hookers and johns. I agree that such conduct is on the increase.
The best advice I can give to hobbyists is to stick with seeing long-term, well-respected Eccie providers. If you do this, chances are tiny you'll attract a blackmailer.
My best advice for providers is to screen very, very carefully.
Maybe I was raised different...this shit doesn't even begin to be a thought in my mind..
The games of manipulation and everything that goes along with it just amazes me

As a John, are you better off going anonymous - fake name, burner or Google phone and passing on the screening - or going for a full screen? Once in my life, due to a special fetish and extremely limited providers, did I go for a full screening, including Linkedin profile and job info. I did it only because it was a bucket list item and I rolled the dice. I will NEVER do that again.
In the end, a nut is a nut and I prefer to keep it anonymous.

I've noticed, on this board specifically, a certain level of fierce distrust of women. For those of us who know how to keep our clients' secrets AND also guard their information before, during, and after the whole matter (screening to potential pillow talk) this now makes it even more difficult.
So, thank you to whomever these ladies are for making it even more difficult for those of us who actually do the right thing. Every. Single. Time.

So....it would probably be a good idea to stay away from a provider that I have almost a 100% chance of running into in the RW? More specifically, almost a 100% chance my wife will run into in the RW?
I'm not even married and I don't even have social non-hobby dates back to my home until after the third date.
Love you ladies but love my safety more.

This also probably happens during the "screening" process when guys give their personal information to total strangers and their associates that you know nothing about or what intentions they might have,
some might be great and professional today but people/things can change with time.
Damn. Sorry to hear about those poor souls, or anyone else caught up with some sleaze bag (men or women) using extortion scare tactics.
Real life info???
How about you give me YOUR real life info.
I don't give a damn how fine you are. Can't do it.

Hmmm I don't even think along these lines, that's crazy...
