Local PD don't have the manpower or skillset to track cyber crimes. That's what the FBI does, but it has to be of a very serious nature.

Local PD would tell you to file for a "No Contact" Restraining Order, and that would take several days, after filing it in person.

RO's are filed with the DA's office of the County where you or the abuser live. So, you went to the Mesquite Municipal Court House and filed your request?

If anyone at the Mesquite PD suggested that uniformed officers would be dispatched, I believe that would be incorrect. Consider going to that Courthouse in person, and ask for "Protective Orders and Court Ordered Assistance". They should be happy to help you.

Of course, bring your phone, so that they can download the harassing and threatening communications to use as Exhibits in the "Reason for Request" section of your filing.
