My opinion is that it did.
Not to people who think America needs to apologize.
What the fuck are you supposed to do after your fuck up? Brag about it? Bush could have fucked up a one car funeral with jumper cables. He did everything in his power and then some to alienate countries that we needed to help us in various endeavors that were (and are) in our national interest. When you do wrong, apologizing is not a weakness, it's a strength. I frankly don't think that any of these incidents would really rise to the level of a full apology, but who the fuck cares if they did. Certainly some of them should have. When the country that is supposed to be the moral beacon for the rest of the world engages in torture, we should apologize (and prosecute the worthless fucks that ordered the torture). When we declare war on an entire religion, and profile people because of their religion, we ought to be held to account.
