I'm not traveling that far, but I will certainly be watching all the games. Our ladies are a lot more fun to watch and probably even having better skills. Our guys SUCK!!! If you watched any of the CONCAF games you would have seen our "future" team and they aren't any better than our first team boys. Makes it disappointing thinking about the next World Cup.

I'm going to watch the first match Friday, the US vs. Việt Nam.

I asked several Vietnamese (now American) ladies who they would root for. Thought it might be an interesting cultural discussion.

But they uniformly responded with ''Tôi không cho Dit của một con chuột''

Basically they hate sports.. Period. The World Cup has zero value whomever is playing.

Hopefully one of the women's teams will repeat the Brandy Chastain sports bra scene. I might watch it on replay if there a pointy nip thru a tight jersey.

... Starting soon - so I better give me picks for advancing
out of each Group... The best sides overall seem to be
Australia and the likes of the USA, England, Germany and Spain.

Group A - Norway and NZ.
Group B - Australia and Rep. of Ireland.
Group C - Spain and Japan.
Group D - England and Denmark.
Group E - The USA and The Nets.
Group F - France and Brasil.
Group G - Sweden and South Africa.
Group H - Germany and South Korea.

... Let's see what happens in the opening round of matches, mates!

... Hmmmm... So WHAT was up there with the USA team?
Looked rather bored and non-plussed that their-own
anthem was playing. ... How sad.

... And we're on-to the knockouts - though the US surely
came within 7cm of being sent home in disgrace, sorry to say.

But me selections were well-on, correct on half of the groups.
And 11-5 overall... Can the US survive Sweden??

Sadly Sweden will take down these uninspired group of americans. Gaining credibility and confidence in the group stage translates to success in the knockout round and the US has no momentum or confidence. Only an early push and goal by someone of the likes of SI swimsuit model Alex Morgan would get this team thinking out of there own heads. It possible but not likely. If not, the US team will continue to play tight and even more nervous as the match goes on like an underperforming tournament favorite would do. Sweden balanced and ready.

... Good to hear from a lad who knows his football!

Sweden is surely good enough to topple the US girls there.
It will be a rather interesting match to see....

in the most wonderful city in the World! ...

... Dirk surely called it! ... Though I was surely
hoping to see me-own lovvys square off against
the US cows in the Final...

Oh well - reckon ya can't have everything.

... So we now know the other nations that will of course
join Australia in the "final four"... Spain, Sweden and England.

... Hmmmm... you might also notice that I chose each one
of them to Win their groups before the Cup started. ...

Also chose the USA --- emmm ... me bad! ... Poor form there.

... England is the wagering choice to Win it all, but me-own
pretty-birds should be up to the challenge!

I'd like to see the Matilda's take it all, but don't think they have what it takes to knock out the Brits.

... We'll find out in a few hours, mate.

... I'm hoping for a good match... 'Cause when the whole thing
began - I was surely pulling for me pretty-birds and
England next... But whomever takes the match - Spain won't
just be a ten-a-penny dream in the final.

Good match - solid up and down action, not many fouls
just good football... late goal by England surely sealed the deal.

Our lovvys will have a go at third place with Sweden.
Should be a good final with England and Spain.
