If backpage is shuttered, what other local site can we browse? ECCIE is nice and all, but we all know a lot of reviews come from BP as well.
There are other sites like Cityvibe and horndogs, but backpage is the big one. Im surprised BP has lasted this long. Craiglist adult services was shutdown without hesitation.
if you read on you will see that BP is trying to make sure that those that DO post are who they say they are and do so with consent. In that story, it was the pimps that did the posting... not the girls.. so BP has that as an out... BP might make it harder to post ads and it might take an email verification set up.. as in you create the ad under your sign in name, an email is sent to the email address you used for signing in and you must respond with the code they sent before its posted and they can have page scanners to look for email links in the ad itself like they might have for looking for web page address's and auto remove them.

This way if a pimp puts the ads up, either he has to get the girl to use her email address for the account so she can email back and forth if someone clicks "reply to this ad" or has to use an email of his own.. which means he has to gen up a fake one (no big deal there) still it would mean he would have to involve himself more.

If there is money to be made, they will figure out a way.
I don't think CL was making a dime off of the ladies ads.

You never know what the courts will do. Also, maybe this more recent teen has a better attorney.

When you create an account on BP, they send an email verification with a link (no code) to your account. Once you create an account.. all of your ads are posted under that account.. every ad you post, a link is sent to your email with the details of the ad.

BP is not going anywhere. Last year they made over 20 million on escort postings alone. Things are only going to get better (profit wise) for BP.
BP will not be shut down where would our congress men and senators go looking for there whores and dont forget theres always Eros, hotescortpages and tons of others all you have to do is a google search for escorts new ones pop up everyday
All of those sites will be targeted at some time or another. Perhaps Eros would be the least of the worries because they make young providers show proof of age. More sites should look into that to cover their asses.

And Craigslist did $34 million in erotic services ads before it shut those down...the point?
It's been tried before, without success.

I imagine this won't make it.. as others have tried to sue as well.

By the way there are sooooo many sites, aside from backpage. Eros, Cityvibe, Horndogs, TER, Bigdog, AHC, and even a hell of a lot more. Those of you who just browse Backpage or eccie need to look around more ..lol
