Amnesty International. It's a start ...

I've noticed a lot of similar topics started about this decision of Amnesty International but not a lot of comments.

I understand that. Still, I think this is a good step, right?
Thank you so much for posting this Elisabeth - I caught eye of this on my twitter feed the other day.

The resolution recommends that Amnesty International develop a policy that supports the full decriminalization of all aspects of consensual sex work. The policy will also call on states to ensure that sex workers enjoy full and equal legal protection from exploitation, trafficking and violence.
I agree wholeheartedly with this. And yes, it seems like a positive step forward!

Much prefer decriminalization over making it legal. A small fine, maybe. A different way to pay "taxes".

Nevertheless, here is one of my favorite quotes on the matter;

" A fine is a tax you have to pay for doing something wrong. A tax is a fine you have to pay for doing something right. " - Anonymous

But criminally earned income is taxable. So in the total the thought is not a contradiction and an accurate response to Eng's comment.

However once legal, there will be less opportunity to cheat on taxes. Which goes to the point Eng makes.

My interpretation of your question might differ from others but if a "law" is decriminalized, then we're doing the exact same thing that we've always done, but we don't have to worry about getting arrested.

The only sporting ladies who would have to be concerned about law enforcement would be those that are ripping off clients, or who have been reported for other things. But we wouldn't have to sign any paperwork, or anything like that.

To legalize sex work, then, it would be something like that nightmare that escorts have to do when they work for those legal brothels in Nevada. You have to get checked, sign paperwork, there is a trail and others will KNOW what you do.

Plus, I also feel that if this is legalized, probably the rates will dramatically drop while making our lives a living hell.

Even if this were legalized, I wouldn't be legal doing it because I'm not putting my name on any paperwork.

Anyway ... this is the short explanation.
