What a sad day to hear that one of the greatest singer to ever sing the National Anthem is gone at such a young age.
RIP at last, Whitney.

The Lady did have a great voice, but what she did to the National Anthem was not right.
Forgive my opinion here, but I spent the largest part of my adult life as a member of the military.
As such I have very definite opinions about respect for the flag and the National Anthem. (Defined in the United States Code)
The National Anthem is not a musical experiment. i.e Rosanne Barr, Christina Aguilera.
There is proper way to sing it, and you are expected to sing ALL of the words.
It is a shame that she suffered through periods of addiction, and other issues in her life.
They say that the brightest flame burns the shortest, and there will be a darkness in the musical world for a period of time.
May she find the peace that seemed to allude her here on earth.
Be Careful & Enjoy!

A very rare voice, over flowing with talent. Too bad she threw it all away for a crack pipe. Maybe now she can find the peace that she couldn't find here. A very very sad ending to a very sad story.
