BUSTED BY ECCIE!

Was browsing around ECCIE, and my wife stepped into my office JUST as a message popup window appeared. My normal defense of minimizing the browser or closing it DID NOT WORK because I didn't close the popup window first! I fumbled around with it for about 10 seconds while she read it. Je**s CHR**T!!

PLEASE get rid of the popups - it about ended my hobby days before they really got going!
The Stealth Switch is your friend. Invest in one. You'll thank me later.
It doesn't help that all the porn ads are all over the front page...
So how did you get out of it?!?!? Just curious! Also you know you can turn off pop ups for this site! Another good idea is ALWAYS use a browser that has private browsing. Google Chrome and Fire Fox are good to go.

For Windows systems you can hold down the Windows key and press M to immediately minimize all open windows.
With a Mac hit the control n keys to open a new window.

What pop-ups is the site throwing at you? The only one I know of is the new PM message, and I think that can be disabled...have to check. If its other pop-ups, they aren't coming from us. Plus my GoogleChrome pop-up blocker catches everything.

A minimize all windows command? I dont think that would work to good. Most wives I have had have been kinda curious. Me suddenly staring at that Windows XP Island with the palm trees every time she is near would be a bigger red flag than T or A on the screen.

1. Find out what browser your wife likes. Load that into your computer with a start icon in the middle of the desktop;
2. Install another browser or two. Dont put a start link in the start bar. Change the icon and the names under the icon in these stealth browser- make the name something innocuous and boring "extended spreadsheet analysis" or something;
3. Bury these stealth icons deep in another "boring" folder with a desktop link.

Not perfect. Wouldnt fool a suspicious wife with a little more than basic IT skills. But suspicious and IT skills dont usually come in the same wife.
