Infractions

I just got an infraction for posting a question about a still active provider's rates. The question had been posted by another some months ago but never answered. When the provider recently contacted me I searched her reviews looking for info on her rates. Found an old review where the question was asked but no info on rates was ever provided. So, I just re-asked the question in the same thread

Evidently, this is a no-no because it was an old thread. I am guessing everything would have been OK if I had just started a new thread. It seems to me that if posting on old threads is a problem that results in infractions, it would be easier (and more fair) for the mods to just close threads automatically when they reach a certain age

Wonder what the Mods think about this idea?
I’ve never quite gotten the logic behind the mods getting all worked up when someone asks a question from an older thread. If it’s within context, and a legitimate question, why gripe about it. There are some great threads that kept growing longer and longer. What difference would it be if there was a 2 week gap in the thread.

Infractions are like beauty, they’re in the eyes of the beholder.

im guessing infractions are a norm and privacy is not.
I didn't stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night, but the answers to your question is in the Forum Guidelines

And no, I do not want to be a mod. You think the ban hammer / points is rough now, if I were a mod, some of you would be gone (I'm kidding).

I’m always getting off topic points. It’s effing stupid, imo. Conservations tend to go a bit tangential, in real life and online. Who cares? I fail to see how this is a problem, certainly it’s not one worth getting pissy about and giving warnings.
