Planning Summer Tour - Mountain Range Vacation

Hi guys,

I am planning to do a little... okay, maybe a LOT of touring this summer and was looking at Virginia as a fun place to visit. I plan on doing some camping and visiting the Blue Ridge Mountain Range and Skyline Drive in between hobby fun.

Basically, what I am looking for is if these are good places to visit, if there is any interest from the wonderful men there in seeing me and what are good, safe places to stay in each location.

Feel free to either tack on a message here or PM me.

Hi Molly and an early Welcome on your trip to Virginia.

The area you want to visit probably has 2 stops (Roanoke & Charlottesville).
A few good solid Providers on here can recommend where to stay and advertise.

As for places to visit and things to see, in Roanoke there's the O. Winston Link Museum, which has lots of great photos of Virginia's steam train history.
Pretty cool place http://www.linkmuseum.org/

There's also quite a few good restaurants in Roanoke as well, check Yelp or PM me.

From that SW area of the state you can work your way up to Charlottesville and drive along the Skyline Drive to get there or Blue Ridge Parkway. Both are awesome and chock full of scenery and stops to hike and/or camp.
Here's two sites that will assist you with info;

This should get you started to help focus on your plans.

Best wishes,
JF

XOXO
Thank you so much. I absolutely love museums and history, so I will definitely check out the O. Wilson Link Museum.

I have wanted to go camping along the Blue Ridge Mountain Range and Skyline Drive forever. Visiting that area is the part of my trip that I am most excited for right now. The sites you posted will be e big help.

Once again, thank you so much,

Molly

Ragtop Mountain is a moderate hike with fun "rock-climbing" portion near the summit.

As for museums? How can you beat free admission to the Smithsonian?! Natural History? Air & Space? American History? We've got it all in DC.

P.S.

Character 1: Fancy a week in ancient Mesopotamia? Followed by Future Mars.
Character 2: Will there be cocktails?
Character 1: On the moon.
Character 2: The moon'll do.
Omakase - Looks amazing. I have always wanted to go to the Smithsonian. The other three will be icing on the cake. I think I will have to plan to visit D.C.
There is a 99% chance I will have a new UTR friend of mine coming along with me on my road trip this summer. She is coming to visit me in SA next week to test the water. More details about her and dates as the time gets nearer.
My fiend, April Vela, who will be traveling with me this summer has just posted her WW Thread. Stop on by and say hi. Let her know you would like her to come visit with me with summer.
