I gather that it's a term Logan either coined or popularized, and I've been able to figure out what it means, beyond it being a reference to The Godfather. But I'm curious as to how the term originated and how it came to be applied to that situation. Any help?

Besides the great intel Logan provides to those who have the cojones to hobby that way, Logan has contributed much to the lingo of this hobby I think. Stripper slide is another Logan term I believe.
And even if you do not inspire to follow in Logan's footprints, reading his almost mythical posts can teach a novice a lot about safety in this hobby. True, it is amost a WHAT NOT TO DO textbook for the hobby, or HOW TO KEEP YOUR ASS OUT OF THE SLAMMER perhaps, but there is a lot of good information he shares that many guys could learn a lot from.
