Finding a Money Order

I need your help as I'm out of suggestions. I purchased a Post Office Money order to help a friend that is incarcerated. It was mailed to detention center. I might add Ive been doing the same fuckin routine since Jan 2017. So inmate could make commissary on Wed. It was always hand delivered or mailed on every other Monday so inmate could have money for Wed order. During that Mon to Wed time period, inmate was transferred and jail transferred her without money. Ive contacted detention center several times talked to multiple people "NO BODY KNOWS WHERE IT WENT" Stupid me.. threw the receipt away. As this is the first time I've ever had dealings with the criminal justice system which is more like a racketeering scheme. Money, money, money!! So I contact the post office they cant trace it without the numbers on receipt of money order. I think I'm just shit out of luck on this one?? Whats your thoughts? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Honestly I believe some law dawg cashed the money order and thought I would never know where it went. Now Ive called their hand and nobody knows?
Sorry but I think it's now the price of an education.

It's likely that it will catch up with the intended recipient, but will take some time..... It took 6 months for mail to get forwarded AFTER a release.

And DD, I'm with you, I used a different method tho as I didn't need to protect my identity...for 7 years. I'm happy to say that patience and much grinding of teeth paid off in Feb, to a quite Happy Ending still being lived . I hope yours is just as sweet .

Much love xoxo

the jail system sucks, i have had pen pals i helped over the years, sent some money too 1 lady that was in benton parish jail, she bought some stuff and had it in her locker or room, she was transfered too the other side of the state and they wouldn,t let it take any of it with her, had too doo it aain when she got therre. 3 days later they released her, and told her she had to find her on way home.
