Providers and capitalism

LovingKayla's Avatar
Capitalism: an economic system characterized by private or corporate ownership of capital goods, by investments that are determined by private decision, and by prices, production, and the distribution of goods that are determined mainly by competition in a free market

Meaning:

[noncount] : a way of organizing an economy so that the things that are used to make and transport products (such as land, oil, factories, ships, pussy etc.) are owned by individual people and companies rather than by the government .

It is the effort by an individual to rely on their own sweat and hard work to sell a good that people want to buy. ~journey

I'd been thinking about writing this thread for several weeks now. It all started when I over heard a provider say, "Capitalism is evil." Now, there are a few times in my life where I've not been able to keep my mouth shut. I turned around and said, "What? Are you serious?" I immediately knew I'd made a mistake when she turned around and said, "OH don't tell me, you are one of those crazy conservative capitalist that wouldn't know a tyranny from a granny." First off, I don't why we have to go calling names before the debate can even be made. Secondly, yes.

It occurs to me that many providers may not realize that they are, by the very definition, a capitalist. You are capitalizing on the fact pussy sells. You are the pinical of an individual business person. Your overhead is scarcely 10-20% of your total income (less if you're smart. I'm not smart, I pay at least 20% overhead.) Now that coupled with the fact I'm pretty sure most of you don't pay 30-50% in self employment, state, local, and federal taxes, you are one of the highest paid independent contractors in the world. I'm sure assassins make more (though I've no idea why... we both have about the same risk.)

If you really break down how much money you actually make, you'd be amazed at how much cash actually flows through your hands. And every dollar of it was gotten through the capitalist spirit.

I can't even think of another side to this, so I present it to the board for debate.

Topic: Are providers capitalist?

Yep.

They have a cheap labor force ('paying' only themselves...usually, but there are exceptions, without having to pay a salary to a staff) to maximize profits. They work their own hours, and many times aren't available, with little or no notice. Many exploit tax loopholes (as in don't pay any, but may get a refund). They raise rates to increase profits, many times without justifiable reasons, for the sole purpose of sucking every dime out of the consumer.

Soooo, yeah. Based on the above chararacteristics, I would say so. Many are close to the typical Corporate America theme running rampant in this country.
In a technical way, yes. Providers are capitalists in that they own the means of production (pussy/sex) to profit.

Independent contractors is a better term though. A true capitalist invests in the means of production to produce greater and greater levels of profit. A provider will always be limited to just one pussy, not to mention the large percentage of providers that live "paycheck to paycheck."

Also, a capitalist isn't limited like a provider is. A provider owns the means of production, but also has to labor to use it. That labor has a cost, and a provider has no choice but to be her own labor. A capitalist on the other hand, owns the means of production, but has a wide latitude in labor input. In short, a capitalist has no restraints to making money, and a provider does.

By definition a capitalist is someone who has an abundant amount of money to produce more money.

It's debatable whether a provider would meet that by definition but my guess is the better providers do handle their fair share of money. What they do with it and how they handle it determines how well they do as individuals working in a capitalist system.

Regardless...the blanket statement that "capitalism is evil" is rather ignorant. The same could be said about socialism and many other "isms".

I've been paying my taxes on my earnings since 2003--- I'm not a fan of alphabet soup and of all the agencies that could really wreak havoc in my life, the IRS is on the top of that list. Only a truly foolish person stays in this industry for longer than 2 years without paying their taxes. capitalist

noun cap·i·tal·ist \-ist\
: a person who has a lot of money, property, etc., and who uses those things to produce more money
: a person who believes that capitalism is the best kind of economic system

Whether it's a dollar, millions of dollars, or somebody else's money, if you invest or use it to make more money, you're an American capitalist. I may not invest directly in a venture to make money, I do invest in the market hoping to capitalize from someone else's effort to make money.

We're all the same, we want to make more money, some just don't have the skills or ambition to go beyond.
A smart provider will put money aside so that she is able to retire with a plan and invest that money in creating her own business that will bring in "clean" income. This should be a starting point to get you elsewhere, whether that be grad school or your own business...however...most ladies I have met are not too bright and live "paycheck to paycheck."

If they're independents and are any good at it, they are.
