Anyone read Rachel Kushner's The Mars Room? I just finished it last week. So well constructed and so simply written it's easy to overlook how beautiful the prose is. I was troubled by how much of myself I saw in it. And I was fascinated by trying to figure out how much I should trust the narrator. She told a story of life happening to her in a way that made me think she was engaged in a little self-deception.
