Self respect and mutal respect

The idea for this thread came from a few post I have read...are we in the hobby world because in the real world we lack self respect or are we jagged against others and in the hobby world we can change who we are and hide from what scares us? I know personally while the real world is very much like my online persona and who I am as the Irish vixen..I am sure there are men and women out there who hobby to replace or fill a void that is missing in the real world...I very rarely post such a serious post but I would be in curious as to honest input..if you choose pm me but know this no matter why you hobby either as a provider or hobbyist...YOU ARE A SPECIAL PERSON IN BOTH WORLDS....and so you should respect yourself as well as others...I know society views us as differently but you know what fuck the ones who say we providers/hobbyist are less than..in reality they are jealous..we have the best of both worlds...I hope this thread makes sense I really just typing random thoughts...I appreciate everyone here and respect everyone (some more than others..lol..) but everyone deserves respect and should respect themselves as well....ok I am done rambling....
I don't get it but I kinda get it and I like it.
For me, as a provider, it's not about self respect or lack of or anything like that. I'm a provider for various reasons; money, single girl who doesn't date, who likes sex, etcetera.

After I divorced 5 years ago, I did a considerable amount of online dating, had a few one night stands and a lot of fun, but ultimately wasn't satisfied. I got tired of the online dating & disappointment and then ended up becoming a provider after not being able to dance/strip anymore because of a knee injury. Anyway, I am treated better as a provider than I ever was as a single girl looking for love or a boyfriend. The online dating was ridiculous, tiring, and ultimately, a waste of time. Being a provider has given me the pleasure of dating & sex, not to mention the income increase, without the hassle of real-life dating and all the crap that goes along with it.

For me, self respect has nothing to do with it. I respect myself and haven't had any issues since I've been doing this. I thoroughly enjoy what I do and at this point in my life, wouldn't have it any other way.

Maybe when I ready for a real committed relationship, I'll quit. Who knows.

I may have missed the point entirely here, but I don't really see it as two worlds. There are legal and personal reasons to remain hush hush, but not I don't become a different person or anything. I hobby because the services received are worth more than the funds allocated. I have tons of mutual respect and plenty of self respect. I don't care whether a person is rich/poor white/black, etc.
The reality is that this is not two worlds. It's the same as anything else really; business and personal. If you don't keep those two exclusive then there is bound to be problems and not just in this industry.
I don't think it's about lacking self-respect on either end. The way I look at it is, lacking self respect would be drug abuse, excessive drinking, eating terrible etc. Not taking care if yourself shows a lack of self-respect more so than anything.
Society views us differently? Hah! Take a look around! 90% of the one's who judge us are hypocrites anyway.
I don't think the others are jealous of us either. I think they just have a lack of understanding but a big enough ego to pass judgment. It's called ignorance... Unfortunate but nothing new.
You get back what you put out. Most of the time.
There's my piece.
you are right and the thread was just as I said random thoughts based on other things I have read...i meant they are jealous in the way they have not found a way to have fun like we do...for me I just call them two worlds because it just the terms I use to separate the two...

Thank you for an excellent post. This is a topic that interests me a lot right now because of two particular ladies I am close to. I am interested to see some of the replies. On some other sites you post would get attacked, mocked, etc., but one of the reasons I spend time here is I suspect there will be some posts very much worth reading.

I have met a lot of ladies who--in their professional and personal lives--seem to have no self-respect/self-confidence issues, but I have also met some who you describe perfectly. Both the ladies I am connected to right now fall in that category--charming, intelligent, attractive, friendly ladies who refuse to believe that about themselves. In both cases they got one rave review after another when they were above the radar and actively advertizing. The raves were for their personality and charm as much as their BCD skills--and deservedly so. But both deep down felt that no one could possibly like them for who they really are, so they relied upon layers of masks--and drinking--to try and become someone likelable.

Both are complex people, but in both cases I think they--in part--definately look at this work to try and convince themselves they are likable.

YOU ARE A SPECIAL PERSON IN BOTH WORLDS

The hobby world and the real world? He’s SL’S spin on the two! They are both like masturbating! It’s real, it happens, and it’s fun! If it wasn’t, nobody would do it! But it’s socially unacceptable to do it openly in public! So we change are names to “Still Looking” and play with ourselves till the cows come home! It sure is REAL to me!

So I say the hobby world is the real world for me anyway! Just because I keep my hobby world private certainly doesn’t mean it’s fantasy! Funny word fantasy! Let’s just use Shayla as an example. Drop dead gorgeous hottie from Canada. Well let’s say I’m lucky enough to meet her one day and have her take a ride on the SL Express. Well it hasn’t happened so to me it’s a fantasy! But if it does then it becomes reality! So fantasy world becomes real world! So I’m making the fantasy world / hobby world the real world one provider at a time. With the exception of a few doubles now and then! That’s the dream world so don’t get me started about that world! LOL

I like the excitement and the rush from not knowing what's going to happen and I guess the little bit of danger so to speak. It gives me away to be on the darkside without really being on the darkside. some people bungee jump for fun. I bang hookers for fun.

Self-respect? Insofar as it's preferable
to have a higher dollar ride vs some

than respect there.

Mutual respect? BCD is one thing.
This is your world doll, I'm just paying

Most things are as you wish.

Here? Depends if you be a he or she.
A she is given an automatic degree of respect.
She will not be engaged on anything but
a passive level regardless how nasty she gets.
In the Book of Man her opinion has no weight.

how much of a godless flaky cryptocommie
they are on a given day.

I thinck there may be more mutual respect in the hobby than real life. There will always be those that cannot respect anyone, but I usually avoid those. I have met many great people in the hobby, and several wonderful women. Let's not forget those ladies who top the charts as being good people.

Respect is as essential as lust. You cannot thrive is this world, no less than in the 'real' world, without it. For we hobbyists, that means never forgetting that the women we are with are no different than those we encounter elsewhere. If we treat them the way we'd want to be treated, LISTENING to what they say about individual values and likes, then we'll both be fine.

I'm no religious fanatic, but the Golden Rule applies equally well to those of us far along on the kinky scale as to those for whom sex before marriage is ruination.
I'm impressed by the level of sensibleness in the replies (maybe I made up that word, who knows). I like that someone said this is a real world - of course it is.

What I've really noticed in life lately is how lonely people are, how hungry. Today I was noting again how compulsive people were on their mobile phones and thinking how lonely that behaviour is, but that too shall pass. Maybe in 10 years it'll be a joke. Outdated like doing poppers used to be so fashionable in gay clubs in London.

I think this world (escorting) brings people together for a bit, perhaps meaningfully, and that's more than can be said in the regular world a lot of the time. Sadly.
