Tips for the traveling Domme

I would like to hear from the clients who have visited a Domme in a hotel room or from other Domme's who travel. How in the world does this make for good experiences? First of all, how in the hell do you haul all your things around? That's a lot of gear; for me it would be a lot of gear. Second, what about the noise? Lastly, I would think the setting would be some what detracting. How do you know where to tour etc.?
I've been pleasantly surprised about the amount of noise you can get away with in a hotel room. You can try to play with quiet toys... but what fun is that. As for the gear... ask your submissive friend to get there a little early and bring it up to the room You probably also want to build a travel bag so you don't have to travel with everything.
It depends on what you are hauling.. I've seen some travelling dommes that drive and cart around 200lbs of gear and costumes for playing. But if you think about it, for many sessions you just need a few key pieces of gear and some imagination and you'll be able to do a lot! You don't need 15 different gags, 5 different paddles, 10 pairs of handcuffs, etc.

Biggest question to ask yourself is if you are flying or driving. Flying means packing a suitcase, but you can still add in a few things for fun.

When you get a hotel room, always be mindful of your settings. Sometimes you might want to take the comforter off the bed and cover the door to dampen sounds. Or if you can, get a corner room, or perhaps one near the ice machine to help have other sounds cover the ones you are making.
I used to have a couple of friends that traveled up here to play from Houston. iI is all about the things that you most enjoy to play with. They did drive, so could bring more things, but you really need to look at, "How many times do I use that in session?" If it is not used often, then take it out of your bag. I used to be famous for my Bag o Bondage, where in a backpack and a small bag, I kept everything needed to make a great session.

For room choice, I did play at a place that had all concrete walls and floor and ceiling, Was the worst echos I had ever heard. Look for a room, like above, in the end of the building, and play at that end. Or one near ice machine or some other noises. Run the shower, use music or other covers, and be aware of how loud it is getting.

Just my .02 worth.

At Beyond Vanilla last year there was a seminar on hotel room kink that was very pertinent to this thread.

One example is to keep the luggage cart in your room & use it as a substitute St. Andrews Cross.

I saw the brilliant Mistress Montana of Dallas in a hotel setting when she was traveling and was amazed at how she converted the space into a dungeon more by style than anything else...I was doubting the setting myself..but her command, presence and control, so to speak, took care of things...and her abilities with a set of sounds helped as well.
When you say converting into dungeon by style what do you mean? Can you elaborate? Great idea with the rack btw!!UOTE=captnzen;902070]I saw the brilliant Mistress Montana of Dallas in a hotel setting when she was traveling and was amazed at how she converted the space into a dungeon more by style than anything else...I was doubting the setting myself..but her command, presence and control, so to speak, took care of things...and her abilities with a set of sounds helped as well.
