Trac phone to Canada?

A couple weeks ago I read that trac phone was going to be able to be used to call Canadian numbers. I tried today and it did not work. Did anyone else hear of this or am I mistaken?

I think somebody reported Trac phone will work when you call from the USA into Canada but once you get into Canada it won't work inside Canada.

On my Virgin Mobile phone I have to dial "1" before the area code to call Canada. Which I don't have to do on domestic long distance. Give it a try.

Have a Tracfone and when I call Canada from the US, I have to call 1 800 706 3839 first and then the Canadian city code (same as our area code), followed by the 7-digit number.

I have an AT&T Go Phone and can call Canada just like any US call. You may want to switch if you're going to be calling Canada frequently.

T-Mobile Prepaid also works great with voice or text in Canada.
