Okay, so this is kinda strange...one of my ATF providers just called me and said that she had a client make an incall appointment. When the guy showed up he was in a public works truck and then he badged her at her front door, saying he was with the health department. He spent about half an hour with her, explaining that anybody posting under the escorts section on BP that specifies a compensation rate (i.e., $100 for full hour, etc.) may be in violation of the health code and subject to fines. (Like performing unlicensed body work in a non professional enviroment?)
He says that he will issue tickets to motels that have providers staying there; the fine for the motel may be as much as $1500. He said he will also notify apartment complexes of suspected provider activity, etc. He said that such a report may have the provider evicted and may prevent them from qualifying for public housing assistance if they ever apply for it.
I had never heard of such a thing. My first thought is that he was scamming his way into her place by posing as a utility worker; there have been recent news reports about this (as well as persons posing as Fire Marshals) in the Houston area. However, she tells me that she thinks he was on the level, because she actually saw his truck, badge and ticket book. He didn't ask for $ or for a session, and left without writing a ticket. Has anyone ever heard of this kind of thing in the Houston area?
