I called the police and they came and took a report, they say this has been going on alot the last few days.. please share my post, and get a hold of me if u see it.. I'm disgusted that someone would steal from a kid, my son was taking the money to upgrade to a bigger bike and now he is screwed : (

That sucks Kayla, I'm sorry to hear this. People can be so awful. Try not to let it make you too cynical but a little skepticism never hurts.

Thanks guys, I'm an so upset and disgusted.. I will add some pics later to this post, incase anyone comes across it or hears about it they can let me know.. I don't know many people in rochester so if anyone wants to put the word out it would be helpful.. The Rochester cops told me that this is like the 4th dirt bike/motorcycle that has been stolen in the last cpl days.. Same MO

It's a nice ass bike and my son was only selling it bc he wanted a bigger one and was going to put the money towards a new one!! I'm so pissed at myself for trusting the guy.. I spent 25$ in gas, 3 hours out of my day and ended up screwed.. People are such scum, the guy knew it was my kids bike bc my son was with me!!

First rule of selling a bike, nobody rides it till the cash is in my hand.

Hmm. I hope you get the bike back. But what an awful thing to do. It's grand larceny. I don't recommend you post up pics here, as I'm sure you'd want to keep some distance between yourself IRL and yourself here. You could try ad bombing the fact that your bike was stolen on craigslist with tons of picture, and try to figure out where the thief may actually live so that you can start browsing craigslist in his area in case he's trying to sell it.

Makes me realize that even for cars, you should never let someone test drive the vehicle without being in the car too. A lot of trust is involved in selling stuff. I suppose I would have asked the guy for his driver's license or collateral before getting on the bike and I would have met him in the parking lot of a very public and busy shopping mall.

I've sold tires. Guitars. Coats. A PC. And a computer mouse online. And I have bought cars through personal sellers online. A whole load of shit can go wrong but they haven't for me. Yet. At least you and your son are safe and unharmed. Some people have been murdered in these situations.
What area? Pic of the bike so I can keep a look out

I can't figure out how to upload the pics but I'm going to have a freind post them to this thread.. he's gonna post tonight asap.. It was diamond place and Webster that I met the guy, dude told me it was his house but after he took of with the bike I talked to the neighbors and they hadn't seen him before so must not have even been his house.. : (

Yea im realising now I made a mistake in trusting him to test drive it without getting money or somthing.. I guess u just don't think that people are gonna rob you..
