stlasp was a good site early, its owner was active and kept things in check. Then as she backed of, the mods/cliques sorta took over, bat-shit-crazy stuff followed including the outing of private information, personally witnessed a banning of a member by a who was being harassed by a provider mod in a public thread until he said something innapropriate, and more.

I miss the early part of it though, there was a good mix of providers and mongers and a nice exchange of information to keep everybody safe.

The one I really miss was aspd.net.

I think it's possible, but it has to be led by the ladies....and
ladies that get along well.

The get-together that the guys put together are often sausage fests. Lol.....but I'm sure there are some successful guy parties
like in Bachelor Party. Lol

STLASP was a great site but it is gone and there will probably never be another like it. There was an unique combination of a driven and earnest owner/provider and openness and need for such a site at that time. Unfortunately it is just too risky to be as high profile as STLASP got at the time that RFT article was written.

It was not a perfect site but no site really is. I watched a moderator bait out a member till that member took it and got banned but then I also watched that happen over on STLHOBBY as well.

One of the main principles of STLASP was treating others how you'd like to be treated and another was giving all providers the respect and dignity that they all deserve. Both of those seem to have been lost in many ways on other boards.
Oh how I love my partner in criminal enterprises lol It had its ups and downs but all in all it was the best board I have ever been on.

Those were the days my friend
We thought they'd never end
We'd sing and dance forever and a day
We'd live the life we choose
We'd fight and never lose
Those were the days, oh yes those were the days
Just so you know I was singing that in the shower today after I read this lol
