QUESTION ABOUT MODS

I've noticed that the MODS take a lot of flack.I'm always seeing WHY DONT THEY DO THIS OR THAT.
Then when they try to enforce guidelines I see YOUR WRONG, WONT WORK, IN YOUR DREAMS ECT...
My question is this...WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO SEE IN A MOD?
One that goes with the flow,one that cracks the whip,one that gives a little leaway in enforcing the rules, one that strictly enforces the rules ect...
Seems to me that it's a damned if you do and damned if you don't situation.

theres some forums that have at best 1 mod..it flows along nicely and discrepencies get handled among the parties without the mod inserting himself and nobody has died yet
